In an uncertain political environment, medical venture capitalists are interested in technologies that could weather policy shifts, with the assumption that certain trends are here to stay.
These include a push to move certain services out of the hospital and into lower-cost settings, the tailoring of health services to consumers, and the creation of financial products to help individuals pay for medical care, said Rob Coppedge, chief executive of Echo Health Ventures.
The question isn’t whether such changes are coming. “It’s just a question of, at what rate does that happen?” said Rob Coppedge, chief executive of Echo Health Ventures.
